Launch Pad
A SPACE Group for Parents of Young Adults
Many young adults who are stuck have been struggling for a long time — and as a parent, you've been right there with them, doing everything you can. But adulthood calls for a new kind of support. LaunchPad is a warm, practical group that uses the SPACE-FTL curriculum — an evidence-based treatment — to help parents find a new way to show up for their adult children. Together, we'll build a framework that supports greater independence, employment, educational goals, and the ability to move forward. Both instructive and deeply supportive.
Sound Familiar?
Walking on Eggshells You avoid tough conversations because you're afraid they'll shut down, explode, or spiral deeper. The peace you're keeping is exhausting.
Doing Too Much You're paying bills they could pay, doing tasks they should handle, making excuses for why they're not progressing. You're holding them up — but they're not standing.
Stuck in the Pattern You know what you're doing isn't working. But you're terrified that if you stop, they'll completely fall apart. So you keep going, and nothing changes.
What If the Solution Starts With You?
LaunchPad uses the SPACE-FTL framework — an evidence-based approach specifically designed for parents of young adults who won't launch.
Unlike traditional therapy that tries to get your young adult into treatment, SPACE-FTL works directly with you, the parent. Because here's the truth: you have more power to change the family dynamic than you realize.
"When you stop accommodating their avoidance and anxiety, they have to start managing it themselves. When you stop absorbing the problem, they have to start solving it."
This isn't tough love. It's not kicking them out or cutting them off. It's learning to step back with love, hold boundaries with warmth, and create the space your young adult needs to grow up.
What You’ll Learn
Identify Your Accommodations What are you doing that's making it easier for them to stay stuck? We'll map out the patterns keeping the cycle alive.
Reduce Enabling Learn to step back strategically — not all at once, not punitively, but intentionally and with love.
Communicate Differently Say things like: "I love you, and I believe you can handle this. I'm not going to keep doing X, but I'm here when you're ready."
Tolerate Discomfort When you stop accommodating, things often get worse before they get better. We'll give you tools to stay calm and hold the line.
Shift the Dynamic When you stop managing their life, they have to start managing it. Real change happens when you create space for it.
Get Support You're not alone. Connect with other parents navigating the same challenges in a supportive, understanding group.
